"10 Year HV", Anniversary Exhibition
Ten years ago, a group of young, recently graduated artists settled in the former brewery 't Scheepje (founded in 1608) on the Spaarne in Haarlem. The name "Horizonverticaal" originates from this monumental location. At that time, Haarlem did not yet have an artist-run space, which according to the artists, was needed. Working in the studio was combined with organizing exhibitions and events.
At the end of 2019, Horizonverticaal, together with the municipality of Haarlem, founded a perfect new location: the Magdalena Monastery. More spacious and more centrally located, this gave the collective a bright future.
In 2020, we will be celebrating our tenth anniversary, and we look back with pride at our exhibitions and events, such as: "The Ugliest Painting in the World", "Five Successful Editions of the Haarlem Spring", "Soep op Zondag and Hard Pappies", "More Chanel than Coco", and more.
In short, it's time for a party!
The exhibition "10 YEARS HV" shows work by ten artists, selected as a cross-section of all the exhibitions so far:
